Algiers to hold ninth Large-Scale cleaning campaign

The Wilaya of Algiers will launch the ninth edition of its large-scale cleaning campaign on August 7 and 8, as part of ongoing efforts to improve the urban environment and preserve the cleanliness of the capital, the wilaya said in a statement on Thursday.

The initiative is being organized under the supervision of the Minister and Wali of Algiers, Mohamed Abdenour Rabehi, who has called for greater efforts to maintain a clean and healthy environment across the capital.

Supervised by the Walis Délégués of Algiers’ 14 administrative districts, the campaign will target streets, major neighborhoods and large housing estates in several municipalities.

Wilaya services, administrative districts, executive directorates and public establishments will take part in the operation, with human and logistical resources being mobilized to ensure the campaign’s effective implementation.

Beyond its environmental objectives, the initiative is also intended to promote civic engagement and a sense of collective responsibility. The wilaya emphasized the importance of broad citizen and civil society participation in maintaining the cleanliness and improving the appearance of Algiers.

The campaign reflects the authorities’ continued efforts to strengthen environmental awareness and encourage citizens to play an active role in preserving the capital’s urban environment.
