Mostaganem – Today, Monday, the province of Mostaganem is hosting the fourth stage of the Tour d’Algérie, marking a new stop on this international sporting event and offering an opportunity to discover the rich tourist and scenic attractions of Algeria, whilst highlighting the artistic character of the Dhahra region’s cultural heritage and its Mediterranean-style tourist appeal.

A modern, environmentally friendly tramway. The port of Mostaganem is also experiencing growing dynamism, particularly in the area of non-hydrocarbon exports.

As part of efforts to boost economic development, the province is focusing on developing a modern industrial hub for the electrical sector, whilst working to upgrade the ‘El-Bourgia’ industrial zone (670 hectares) to serve as a future driver of national industry.

This momentum is bolstered by strategic projects, such as the “Sonktar” power station, two desalination plants (one operational and one under construction at Sidi Laajal), as well as the fishing and leisure ports, a maritime passenger terminal, and a planned airport project, positioning Mostaganem to be part of the future national air transport network.
